HealthSystems Direct LLC and WeAreHIPAA Announce National Business Alliance to Provide Web-based HIPAA Education and Training to Healthcare Providers

Wayne, PA (May 2002) WeAreHIPAA, the healthcare e-learning business division of Global eHealth Solutions, Inc. headquartered in Wayne, PA. today announced a national business and marketing alliance with HealthSystems Direct (HSD), a full service healthcare management and IT consulting company with over 125 senior healthcare executives providing strategic and tactical business direction to leading hospitals, health plans, and medical groups across the United States. Under the agreement, HSD will market WeAreHIPAA's "HIPAA eCollege" suite of e-learning HIPAA education and training courses to healthcare and allied professionals throughout the entire country.

HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) is a federal law mandating security and privacy of a patient's medical information. By April 14, 2003 thousands of companies, and millions of employees, volunteers, contactors, etc. working with, or having access to medical information, must show proof of their HIPAA training and education. It is estimated that over 20 million Americans will require HIPAA training, with a projected total spending by the healthcare industry on total HIPAA compliance to exceed Y2K.
